Course details

Cross-cultural communication can be tricky even when you’re meeting in person, but with the increasing necessity of virtual meetings, reading the room and accessing your meeting environment is tougher than ever. In this course, Tatiana Kolovou teaches you ways to communicate effectively across cultures during virtual meetings. Tatiana covers the importance of cultural context during virtual meetings, distinct elements of different cultures (high/low context, task vs. relationship-focused) and how they may affect dynamics of communication, important nuances of communication to consider in cross-cultural meetings (such as non-verbal cues), and ways to plan for and navigate tough situations in cross-cultural virtual meetings (meeting for the first time, delivering bad news). Virtual meetings are here to stay, in one form or another, learning to communicate across cultures is a vital skill as you communicate with teams and clients across the globe.
