Course details
Mininet is a virtual network emulator that supports testing, research, debugging, and other essential tasks. It can also help you experiment with—and, in turn, wrap your head around—software-defined networking and OpenFlow, a network communications protocol. In this course, learn how to get started with Mininet. Explore key Mininet commands—including sudo mn—and learn how to start a web server on a Mininet host. In addition, explore Mininet topologies and learn how to bridge Mininet to the outside world.
Note: This course uses GNS3 for all demonstrations.
Learning objectives
Why Mininet?
Working with Mininet commands
sudo mn
Starting a web server on a Mininet host
Configuring Mininet MAC addresses
Mininet linear, tree, and torus topologies
Bridging Mininet to the outside world
Mininet OpenFlow version
Note: This course uses GNS3 for all demonstrations.
